How To Apply

About the BSN

As the centre of a thriving and supportive international expatriate community, made up from over 80 different nationalities, the BSN provides the opportunity of becoming part of a student community defined by an ethos of mutual understanding and cultural harmony.  We have high expectations of our students, so whilst appreciating the difference in the ability and achievement of individual children within the classroom, we expect the same high level of behaviour from all.  Good behaviour, manners and a respect for teachers and other adults are everyday expectations of our students. The British curriculum is internationally respected and practised in many international schools worldwide and it provides us with a learning framework of the highest quality, which we are able to modify and develop to reflect and meet the needs of our international students. Through a choice of GCSE, followed by A Levels or the IB Diploma we offer internationally recognised qualifications allowing access to universities worldwide.  We have a consistent record of excellent academic achievement. and the educational progress of our students is regularly monitored and parental consultations take place throughout the school year both informally and formally.

As a reflection of our truly international student body, it is natural that children joining the school have a wide range of ability in their English language skills. As all lessons are taught in English, it is essential that those students with limited English language are identified and given the help and support they need to benefit from the full curriculum as quickly as possible. The BSN has a dedicated English as an Additional Language (EAL) department within each site, specialising in providing individual help, support and tuition, tailored to the age and needs of each child.

School Inspections

The school is formally - but voluntarily - inspected by the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI).   The BSN recently underwent a new inspection (Sept 2009) and a copy of the report can be found here.

A copy of the inspection report prior to this can be found by clicking here. Please note that at the time of the previous whole school inspection, Junior School Diamanthorst has only been open for a matter of weeks.  As a result JSD was inspected separately at a later date. A copy of the JSD report can be found by clicking here.
