Tree Week at Junior School Diamanthorst

previous next

Tree Week first started in 1975 and is the UK's largest tree celebration.  It's a great chance for communities to plant new trees and it creates awareness about our environment and the importance of looking after trees.

Lots of children took the opportunity of celebrating Tree Week by adding something green to their uniform last Wednesday 26th November.  Each class adopted a tree in the playground, took the time to label it and to find out more about their tree.

The playground was filled with classes writing poetry, measuring trees, doing bark rubbings and lots of other fun activities.

It was a fun day and the children enthusiastically participated in an Environmental Assembly at the end of the day.
