The British School In The Netherlands

Y1 DC celebrated Chinese New Year when Mrs Lye, the mother of Shaun, visited the class. She decorated the room with lots of lovely red decorations and gave a very interesting presentation on the stories and customs behind the celebrations.

The children enjoyed watching a DVD of a very acrobatic lion dance and then had a go at a lion dance themselves!  They made paper lanterns and enjoyed tasting the special food that is prepared for Chinese New Year.  They each received a special treat in a red envelope. Thank you Mrs Lye - we had a really special afternoon.
