We understand that moving to a new country and finding the right school can be an overwhelming experience. Our Family Association - or Parent Teacher Association - is a warm, open and welcoming community, made up of parents, who are experienced and ready to help every new arrival settle into both the BSN and the Netherlands.
Our Family Association is the backbone of parental involvement in the social side of our school - organising volunteer teams and providing support and backing for a range of activities and events for the whole community. Activities are organised by specialist teams who run events and activities to support all our families, these include:
Orientation Programme, New Parent Coffees, etc.
Career Mobility, Dutch Tax, Expat Life Issues, etc.
Coffee Mornings, Lunches, Excursions Around Europe, Cultural Tours, etc.
Regular sales across the school.
International Fair, Welcoming new Families etc.
A chance to pick up a bargain or pass on any lightly used goods.
For many parents, the school can provide a vital community link, offering a chance to quickly make friends and establish an important support network. We have various ways in which we help new families settle into life in the Netherlands and at the BSN - we encourage parents to take an active interest in their child's journey through the school, to get involved and play a part in life at the BSN. One of the Family Association Welcome Coffee Mornings is a great place to start!
Bringing people together, having fun, learning more to support our students and creating an active and inspiring community is what the Family Association is all about. We are here for you and your family, enriching your experience as part of the BSN community.
Lisa Brunslev Family Association Chair
The Chair, in particular, networks across the whole school to ensure the profile and activities of the Family Association are evenly spread.
We are always embracing active and enthusiastic new team members, and if you are interested in being involved, or find out more, we would be delighted to hear from you. Volunteering can be as much – or as little – commitment as you like or can find time for.
