Clubs, Sport & Activities
Children do not only learn within the classroom and within the confines of the traditional school day. For many, the opportunity to try our a new sport or join a club can result in the discovery of a new skill or talent that will lead to further personal development and greater self esteem.
As a school it is part of our ethos to provide students with as wide a range of opportunities as possible - both within the school day and outside it. Our programme of co-curricular activities is extensive and the quality of the options on offer meets the schools usual high standards. Children from Year 1 onwards are able - with their parent's consent - to sign up and participate in clubs and activities during lunchtime and afterschool. The programme on offer changes every term and also varies from school to school.
Whilst sport is an integral part of the curriculum for all age groups, our Co-curricular Sports Programme helps to support this by encouraging students to participate - either individually or in teams - in a range of sports. Depending on the sport, opportunities are available for both recreational and competitive participation. Some sports cover both Junior and Senior age groups, with the clubs providing the opportunity for younger students to mix with older peers - often resulting in strong bonds which continue as they move through the BSN.

Language Clubs
The BSN also organises After School Language Clubs for BSN children. For further information click here.
Instrumental Music Lessons
We are happy to provide information on peripatetic music teachers available for instrumental lessons during lunchtime and after school. Some teachers rent the school premises for the provision of lessons whilst others use alternative locations or come to the student's home address. Further information can be obtained from the music department during a tour of the school.
The Centre for Young Musicians
In addition to the instrumental lessons mentioned above, there is also a separate organisation which was established to further extend the opportunities available to talented musicians at the BSN. The CYM (Centre for Young Musicians) is is run on the Junior School Diamanthorst site every Saturday afternoon. Further information can be found on the centre's website.
