Situated in Voorschoten - a quiet residential area just outside The Hague - the BSN Senior School was completely remodelled and re-built in 2002-03 to provide a stunning, state of the art learning environment for up to 1,100 students from all over the world. The grounds at the Senior School are extensive by Dutch standards and the school has large sports fields, hockey pitches and floodlit, all weather tennis courts.
The Senior School covers Years 7 to 13 of a child's academic life – students join the Senior School at age 11, completing their education at 16 or 18. The academic programme at the Senior School is based on Key Stages 3 & 4 of the British National Curriculum, culminating in the internationally recognised qualifications of GCSEs and A Levels or the IB Diploma.
Both staff and students at the Senior School have considerable experience in helping those who transfer into the school to feel part of the community. We have wide ranging knowledge of the issues associated with moving schools and countries and are able to help newcomers quickly feel secure and settled.
All students are allocated a Tutor Group with a form tutor whom they see on a daily basis. This regular contact enables close relationships to be established individually, collectively and between home and school. The Senior School also operates a close partnership with parents in order to help maintain its high standards.
