Key Stage 3: Years 7 to 9
Years 7–9 is based on Key Stage 3 of the National Curriculum. However, schemes of work take into account the diversity of our student body. During this time, all students follow a course involving a wide range of subjects designed to stretch and challenge every individual, providing everyone with the opportunity to discover and examine their own particular interests and talents.

Key Stage 4: Years 10 and 11
Years 10 and 11 form the final two years of compulsory schooling, during which the majority of students students will follow GCSE courses in 9 or 10 subjects. These subjects will have been selected by the students in close consultation with parents and staff. Students are encouraged to maintain a broad and balanced curriculum by building upon a core of the following subjects:

The remainder of a student's programme is then chosen from a range of additional subjects, selected according to personal strengths and interests. All students also follow a Physical Education Programme covering a wide range of sports and activities. In addition to GCSE options, students are expected to follow an enrichment option. Currently, these include ICT, Sociology/Psychology, Textiles and Ethics and Philosophy.

A Levels or IB Diploma: Years 12 and 13 (Sixth Form)
Students at the BSN can choose whether they wish to continue their studies within either the A Level Programme or the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. Further information on both these options, including a full Sixth Form Curriculum Handbook can be found here.
