The British School in The Netherlands offers a comprehensive school bus service for BSN students from home to school and back again. The service operates every school day. Various options are available including a door-to-door service.
The school bus service is a ‘two way’ service including the morning and afternoon. The buses leave at the end of the school day. Students attending extra-curricular activities need to be collected by parents or guardians.
Please note that the school bus service is not available for Foundation 1 children and the service for Foundation 2 children starts after the half term holiday in October. Any requests for a child in the Foundation Stage 2 to start travelling to school by the school bus before the normal dates will be considered by that school’s Headteacher in conjunction with the School Transport department, and in exceptional cases can be agreed.
Students will automatically be transferred to the appropriate bus service when changing from the Junior School to the Senior School unless written notification is received before the notification date.
Routes
The school bus service currently operates from the following areas: Den Haag, Voorburg, Leidschenveen, Ypenburg, Nootdorp, Pijnacker, Leidschendam, Rijswijk, Wassenaar, Voorschoten, Leiderdorp, Delft, Zoetermeer, Berkel & Rodenrijs and Rotterdam. Limited service is available from Amsterdam.
If your area is currently not covered, please contact the Transport department to investigate the feasibility of offering new bus routes.

Leaving Notification
Formal written notice must be given to the BSN Transport Department three months prior to the start of the following term before the student leaves the school bus service. Failure to do so will result in a full term’s fee, in lieu of notice, being charged for the following term. The bus leaver notification dates are published on BSN Gateway.
