The Art and Design Department’s aim is to provide a quality Art and Design education that encourages students to develop an interest and enthusiasm for the subject, inside and outside school.
We educate young artists so that they can become increasingly responsible for their own work and to be independent in their approach. They are encouraged to explore their own ideas within certain boundaries, which become increasingly individual as they go through the school. We aim to develop the potential and cater for the needs of the individual by giving them the balance of autonomy and structure that will allow them to develop good working practice, have confidence in their own ideas and develop a sound critical judgment while encouraging mutual respect for peers and their work.
The Art and Design department offers examinations at GCSE; AS and A2 levels, and IB Visual Arts. It occupies four Art Studios on the top floor of the school. Displays of student work are regularly displayed in the department and around the school.
We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, creative and committed teacher, with relevant qualifications, who will contribute to Art and Design here at the BSN at KS3, or KS3 and beyond.
