Students and teachers dressed to impress at the Soscars (Superhero Oscars) event at Junior School Diamanthorst on Monday, 22 May.

Year 6 at Junior School Diamanthorst have spent the last half term producing their own super hero films. They were responsible for script-writing, cinematography and editing - all of which included devising their own superheroes, crafting a backstory, writing the script, filming and editing using green-screens and special effects.

On Monday, the children shared their trailers with the whole year group at the much anticipated Soscars event.

Of course, there was more to the event than the show. A panel of judges rigorously marked each film entry. The winning team, ‘Glacier: A Tale of Two”, showed the heart breaking story of siblings when one develops superpowers and pushes her sister away. They had great special effects, an original sound track and smooth editing skills. As a result, Team Galcier took home the trophies.
