BSN Celebrates 2026 A-Level and BTEC Results

Congratulations to all A Level and BTEC learners at The British School in the Netherlands (BSN) who received their results today, 13 August 2026.

Learners have achieved strong results and secured places at a wide range of universities in the UK, the Netherlands and beyond. Their achievements reflect sustained effort throughout their studies, supported by their teachers, families and the wider BSN community.

Patrick Heuff, Headteacher of Senior School Voorschoten, said:

I am incredibly proud of the achievements of our A Level and BTEC learners this summer. These results reflect their commitment, perseverance and ambition, alongside the dedication of our staff and the invaluable support of their families.

This partnership has helped our Sixth Form learners thrive, and I look forward to seeing what they achieve next."

Celebrating Learner Achievements

This year, 31.9% of A-Level grades were awarded at A*–A, 63.4% at A*–B, and 84.6% at A*–C, with an overall pass rate of 99%.

BTEC learners achieved a 100% pass rate, with many Distinction and Distinction* grades awarded. These results support progression to a broad range of further study and career pathways.

Class of 2026 Secures Impressive University Places

Seventy-five per cent of learners secured a place at their first-choice university, while 96% secured either their first or second choice.

In the UK, destinations include the universities of Cambridge, Bristol, Warwick, Bath, Leeds, York, Newcastle, Liverpool, Edinburgh and Nottingham.

In the Netherlands, learners are progressing to the University of Amsterdam, Delft University of Technology, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, Leiden University, the University of Groningen, Eindhoven University of Technology, Erasmus University Rotterdam, and The Hague University of Applied Sciences.

Learners will study subjects across a wide range of disciplines, including Engineering, Medicine, Computer Science, Product Design, History, Economics, English Literature, Psychology, Law, Creative Media, Audio Production and Industrial Design.

These destinations reflect the breadth of interests within the Class of 2026 and the range of academic and professional routes available to BSN learners.

Supporting Learners in Their Next Steps

Throughout the university application process, learners have received individual guidance from the BSN Careers team as they considered courses, institutions and pathways aligned with their interests and future plans.

Their achievements also reflect the support provided by teachers, staff and families throughout their time at the BSN.

"All BSN Lions receiving their A-Level and BTEC results today, together with their families, friends, teachers and staff, should feel immensely proud of what they have achieved. They have developed their skills, knowledge and capabilities, showing determination and intellectual curiosity throughout their time at the BSN.

They leave the BSN ready for their next steps beyond school, reflecting the qualities of the BSN Character Profile: creative, courageous, responsible and resilient. I am confident they will carry these qualities with them into the future. Congratulations on all that you have accomplished.

Together with the IB results announced in July, this year’s A Level, BTEC and AS results demonstrate the range of pathways available to Sixth Form learners at the BSN.
