Student wellbeing and mental health are a priority at The British School in The Netherlands. We not only look after the academic progress of our students but also their emotional, physical and mental wellbeing.

We have established a network of support, advice and care that enables all children to flourish emotionally and socially, which will help them to thrive academically.

When children feel happy, safe and secure, they are able to learn.

At all campuses, our staff build strong relationships with each individual student. Making our students feel supported, heard and understood.

There is a trained Health Officer based on each of our campuses who is available throughout the school day to assist should a child fall ill or have an accident and become physically injured or hurt.

BSN Character Profile

Our BSN Character Profile is prominent on all of our campuses. It includes a significant emphasis on ‘perseverance’ and ‘compassion’.

Teaching students to persevere and show compassion towards others and themselves are essential to developing resilience. This is a crucial component of good mental health.
