Working for the BSN is more than just a job; it's an exciting and rewarding career and possibly a life change that can be summed up in three words: teach, live and learn.
Our staff collaborate, in high-performing teams, to nurture a love of learning in their classrooms and beyond.BSN CEO, Heath Monk
The BSN is a well-established school with a strong reputation and consistently outstanding exam results. At the same time, standards are modern, and our culture is one of innovation and continuous improvement.
Teaching at the BSN
With small classes, motivated students, outstanding classroom support and excellent facilities, our staff are free to truly teach.
Our Ed Tech strategy provides the best tools for great learning and ensures the learning benefits are firmly in focus. Beyond the classroom, students benefit from an extensive range of co-curricular activities, trips and visits.
Launching High Performance Learning
We are delighted to announce that the BSN has decided to join the High Performance Learning (HPL) global community of schools in September 2023.
High Performance Learning is a research-based philosophy that believes everyone is capable of being a high performer with the right mindset, skills, and behaviours.
HPL is built on research findings from neuroscience and psychology that tell us that intelligence is not fixed and that we can, with proper deliberate practice, improve the brain's capacity for learning. For that reason, young people should never be limited by outdated ideas of genetic potential because almost everyone is capable of high performance.
I LOOK FORWARD TO ENHANCING OUR EXISTING BEST PRACTICE TO FURTHER STRENGTHEN OUR TEACHING AND LEARNING, IMPROVE ACADEMIC OUTCOMES AND, ULTIMATELY, BETTER PREPARE OUR PUPILS FOR LIFE.
BSN CEO, Heath Monk
Diversity and Equality
The BSN is committed to diversity and equal opportunities for all its staff and students. We have recently established a dedicated cross-campus diversity and equality working group for our staff and parents.
We encourage and invite candidates from diverse backgrounds to apply for our vacancies.
Living in the Netherlands
You'll find plenty of opportunities to meet new people and socialise in the Netherlands. The Netherlands offers a high standard of living with a good work/life balance.
The Netherlands is safe and stable, with well-connected transportation and good infrastructure.
Do as the Dutch do and give riding your bike to work a go!
There is a strong sporting tradition, but be warned, the weather is not always predictable! Fortunately, there are plenty of museums to visit when it rains, especially for the art enthusiast.
Develop & Learn
We provide a broad range of opportunities for professional development to all staff.
The school really cares about its staff and provides many opportunities to help you develop as a professional.
There are many opportunities for staff to advance their career with a position of responsibility. Staff members can benefit from coaching or even become a mentor themselves. As part of a thriving community of nearly 90 nationalities, there is a lot to learn from peers and students.
The BSN is an equal opportunity employer and is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people. Aligned with the recommendations of the International Task Force on Child Protection, we hold ourselves to a high standard of effective recruiting practices with specific attention to child protection.
All applicants are subject to a rigorous screening process that includes:
- Verification of qualifications,
- Obtaining two supervisory references (including current employer's) and
- Obtaining current and previous Police Checks.
For the majority of positions, initial video interviews will be conducted via Cammio. Any employment gaps in CVs will be addressed during the interview.
