Performing for a Worthy Cause

Music

Throughout this week the corridors, classrooms, halls and playgrounds of our three junior schools have been buzzing with the sweet sound of music, and all for a very worthy cause. Students, staff and parents from across the junior school community have been expressing their creativity all week by collaborating to raise money for 'Save the Children' for this year’s Performance Week.

During breaks, lunchtimes as well as before and after school, we’ve been treated to a host of fantastic performances including instrumental soloists, flash mobs, string ensembles, poetry recitals, intimate acoustic sessions and showcase concerts. Not to be outdone the Senior School choir ‘Crescendo’ came through to deliver their words of elderly wisdom in a rousing acapella performance of “When I’m 64” at both JSD and JSL!

A huge thank you to all the performers who we secretly know have been putting in many extra hours to rehearse and practice their pieces. Special thanks also to the entire BSN Community for all your generous support towards this fantastic cause.

At the time of writing over €1,700 had been raised with money still coming in. We’ll be presenting a cheque for the final total to a representative from Save the Children in the next couple of weeks, so keep an eye on our website and social media channels for details of the grand total.
