Our Senior School is a thriving educational community where there is opportunity for all students to excel in a wide range of studies and activities. We encourage the development of skills and personal characteristics through new experiences and teamwork and aim to develop young people who will take their place in society as citizens of the world.
Our students and staff join us from a wide range of countries in addition to the UK and The Netherlands, and we are proud that over eighty nationalities are represented in our school.
The community is known for the support and understanding it offers to newcomers and this is equally true for parents who we recognise as essential partners in our work. Whether your family has recently arrived in The Netherlands or your son or daughter is new to the BSN, the Senior School itself, or moving from one of our junior schools, our aim is to make the transition as straightforward as possible for all concerned.
All members of our school are valued for the experience they bring with them from their previous setting. We have high expectations of our students and aim to equip them with the skills, qualifications and experience to be successful in the next phase of their lives. We want to students to be the best that they can be and encouraging all our young people to take on responsibilities, develop qualities of leadership, make new friendships and become involved in a wide variety of activities.
In today’s fast-moving and competitive world, we believe it is important that students can demonstrate engagement, imagination and creativity in their work. We offer challenge and opportunities for independent thinking in a wide range of environments and we encourage critical thinking and reflection in a broad curriculum with an extensive enrichment programme.
We work tirelessly to ensure that teaching is of the highest quality and that learning is both interesting and fulfilling. At the BSN we value the individuality of all students whilst fostering teamwork and collective approaches to success. We nurture talents, develop skills and encourage initiative.
Our Form Tutors and Heads of Year will also ensure that students have all the information they need to make a good start and will continue to be important reference points for you through the year. I should also let you know that the BSN Family Association holds a regular Coffee Morning at Senior School where parents are welcome to drop by, meet other families and catch up on news about life at the BSN.
I look forward to welcoming you and introducing you to our school.
