The British School in The Netherlands

The Sixth Form

Students enter the Sixth Form (Years 12 and 13) at the age of 16. The two years spent in the Sixth Form are an exciting and challenging time when students are able to focus on subjects which they truly enjoy, while developing their own ideas and opinions, and preparing for higher education.

The BSN is the only school in the Netherlands to offer a choice of British A Level and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) and International Baccalaureate Career-related Programme (IBCP). This range of choice gives our internationally ambitious students the broadest range of options to enable them to study the subjects that interest them most and prepare themselves fully for university and higher education.

We offer a wide variety of subjects at A Level and IB. Both IP Programmes also include a Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS) element as well as the Theory of Knowledge (TOK). A Levels and the IBDP are highly regarded by universities around the world, and are recognised entrance requirements for almost all higher education institutions. It is always best to check exact entry requirements for specific universities or further educational establishments - our Careers Department and Sixth Form Team are also on hand to give valuable support and advice.

The BSN has been running the International Baccalaureate Career-related Programme (IBCP) since September 2014. This programme is suited to students seeking both an academic and practical, vocational foundation to support future studies and training. Our first cohort of IBCP students completed the programme in 2016 and all have secured places at universities around the world.

The Sixth Form at The BSN is a place where you work hard and are pushed to achieve your very best.
