The first-ever TEDxYouth@BSN event at The British School in The Netherlands (BSN) was certainly a day full of big ideas worth spreading.

Big Bold World

Anyone who has hosted their own TEDx event will understand how rigorous even the application process can be. After months of preparation, planning and coaching, the BSN hosted its first-ever TEDxYouth@BSN event on Thursday 9 November 2017.

The theme of the event was #BigBOLDWorld and the intention was to provide inspirational teaching and learning opportunity for all the students, giving a loud, clear voice to the generation that will live with the consequences of actions taken today.

The Programme

17 speakers included Junior and Senior School students and six external guests stood on the big ‘Red Dot’ sharing their ideas with passion and pride. The student speakers spoke on a wide variety of themes, from embracing change to reducing food waste.

Here is to living in a #BigBOLDWorld.

The external speakers had travelled as far as Canada, coming from a diverse range of backgrounds including space, poetry, education and gaming.

Throughout the day, the audience was entertained by original song performances from two Senior School students, covered by talented BSN musicians, a moving drama piece and a physically dynamic gymnastics performance.
