Senior School Voorschoten prides itself on student-led events and this year’s annual Talent Show was a prime example. Well done to the Year 12IB CAS students who worked hard to put on a dazzling show on 27 February.

Titled ‘Shine’, this was the fourth show in four years, and it indeed allowed all performers to shine. Performers included the 15-member strong BSN Dance Club, talented musicians on the harp, guitar and piano, dramatic duets, and fantastic magicians. The judges – Mr Topping, Mr Hare and Mrs Dixon – had the tricky task of choosing a winner.

The Talent Show Cup was awarded to singer-songwriter Austin White from 10BB (pictured) for his self-written ballad “Forever.” Austin has been writing and playing the guitar since he was 7 years old, and although it hasn’t always been smooth-sailing he has thoroughly enjoyed practising and performing at the BSN during lunch breaks and events.

Thank you to all the students and staff that helped to make this event a success. The students managed to raise over 700 euros (still counting) for KWF Kankerbestrijding (a Dutch cancer fund) in memory of Mr Matt Stower, a popular teacher and much-loved colleague, who himself enjoyed music and completed sponsored runs for both Project Africa and KWF Kankerbestrijding.
