Senior Student Successes

This year’s Young Enterprise Team, a group of Senior School Voorschoten (SSV) Year 10 students, recently came second in Jong Ondernemen’s regional Junior Company of the Year Pitch Battles for their pitch and product, Magpy, a GPS tracking device designed to help you keep track of your belongings. An incredible achievement!

What is Young Enterprise / Jong Ondernemen?

Young Enterprise, known as Jong Ondernemen in the Netherlands, aims to teach young people all the ins and outs of entrepreneurship. It gives them the chance to utilise and practise skills essential to running a business, such as developing an effective business plan, conducting market research, product promotion and financial literacy. Students gain a deeper understanding of the opportunities and challenges that running a business can present, and it helps them develop practical life skills. It is also excellent preparation for future entrepreneurship!

Magpy: Saving You Time and Money

Did you know that, on average, we spend around three days a year looking for lost items? That’s why the BSN Young Enterprise Team have created Magpy: a GPS tracking device that can be easily connected to help you to keep track of those essential everyday items such as your bicycle keys, TV remote or charger. Magpy is the safe, reliable and simple solution to never losing track of your essentials again!

Special thanks to Anne-Marie Smith, Young Enterprise Coordinator at SSV, for coaching and supporting the BSN Young Enterprise Team throughout the process.

Congratulations again to the Magpy Team on the excellent results that they achieved! We can't wait to see what these students will accomplish next.
