The children of Junior School Leidschenveen welcome you to our vibrant community of learning and achievement where children from every corner of the world learn, play and make friends, each and every day. Watching the children’s enthusiasm as they arrive for lessons every morning shows how much their school means to them. There is a tangible buzz of excitement about learning in a truly dynamic community where every child, every parent and every member of staff matters.
It is our aim that the children who come to JSL are happy, engaged learners who make a positive contribution to their friendships, their family, and their school. Our children enjoy lots of opportunities to work in teams, to be a leader and a great team member. We have a wonderful Student Council who along with several Digital Leaders, International Representatives and winners of the weekly awards for Maths, Writing, Arts, Science, Citizenship and Effort set an example of high standards for all to follow.
We pride ourselves on the children’s good behaviour which we all work hard to promote throughout the whole school community. We believe that every parent has a key role in fostering all that is good about being a young person in school and we are fortunate to benefit from a terrifically supportive parent body who help each other and us in all sorts of creative ways.
We believe that every young person should become a responsible citizen with an awareness of local as well as global issues. We think that it is important for children to engage in acts of service and giving to others, that they are seen to exercise self-control and become self-directed in their own learning and demonstrate care for their classmates and their school.
