Sport Hockey

In only their second year competing in the Dutch indoor hockey competition, the BSN teams have managed to achieve two 1st place finishes and a very close 2nd place.

MB7

After a double promotion outdoors, the MB7 team were eager to play indoors for the second time. This young team comprises students from years 8-10, but play in the age-group for year 10-11. They demonstrated amazing strength, fitness and support for each other to overcome their more experienced opponents. Their indoor season finished with a three-team tie involving the teams ranked 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the league. In a tense and hard-fought competition, the MB7 team won both their final matches to become convincing champions of their league!

MA6

The MA6 (6th form) team continued to display outstanding skills, teamwork and commitment to win yet another title in the Dutch league.

Also playing in only their second competitive indoor season, the team overcame more experienced opposition and tough matches. They finished 3 points clear at the top of the table with a huge +42 goal difference!

MC8

The MC8 (year8/9) team also had an outstanding indoor season, with the final result being out with their control; for safety reasons, the KNHB cancelled all fixtures on the final match day for the MC8 team due to storm Ciara.  The decision was made to not reschedule these matches and as a result the team missed out on their chance to become champions.

Instead, the team finished a close 2nd place behind Alecto, a team they beat earlier in the season.  A great result for their first time playing competitive indoor hockey.

Umpiring

Students from year 10 upwards have also been working towards their umpire’s qualification during the winter season. By attending regular lunchtime sessions and observing the skills of Mr Cartz, our multi-talented maths teacher, as he umpired many of our indoor fixtures this season, the girls will be well prepared to gain their official KNHB qualification.

Outdoor season starts again

There’s no rest for the players though, as all teams from year 7-13 are back outdoors training eagerly for the outdoor season which recommences over the next two weeks. Good luck girls!
