Sunday 27 January saw the BSN hosting St John’s and BSB for our first home gala of the season.
The event was held at the Het Wedde swimming pool in Voorschoten and involved a total of 66 swimmers aged 9 to 18 years of age. The BSN put on a good display, finishing first overall following the 54 event programme. There were some excellent swims across all age groups and some 60 personal best times were achieved by the BSN.
There were of course also a number of DQ’s, but these always serve as great learning opportunities, especially for our younger swimmers. A special mention goes to Eliott, who went under the minute for the first time in his career in the 100 m freestyle. Finally, a huge thank you goes out to all the parents and staff involved in making this such a successful event.
The final standings and points following the competition were:
- BSN: 171
- BSB: 122
- St John’s: 15
The team continues to train in the early mornings, as the swimmers prepare for the season’s main event, the ISST, which will be held in Brussels from March 6-8, 2019.
