What a fantastic turnout for this year’s City-Pier-City (CPC) Loop (CPC Run). On 10 March 2024, students, parents, and staff participated in the event, representing the BSN. (Fun fact: it was the 48th edition this year!) It is the largest running event in The Hague and a whopping 35,000 runners from all over The Netherlands participate each year.

Over 380 students from across our four campuses, Junior School Leidschenveen, Junior School Vlaskamp, Senior School Leidschenveen and Senior School Voorschoten took part, alongside many parents (who took on the role of coaches for the day!) and staff, each running the 1K, 2.5K, 5K or 10K. While the weather was typical for March (grey and on the windy side), it didn’t deter our BSN runners, who managed to pull off some pretty amazing feats this year!

A very deserving special mention to Year 8 Senior School Leidschenveen student Muireann, who – for the second year in a row! – was the first girl to win the 2.5K. Congratulations, Muireann, on your outstanding achievement!

"I wanted to run a personal record and I think I succeeded."

As for what the future holds, she adds that her ambitions don't necessarily lie in running:

"Of course, winning is great, but I would prefer to be an astronaut!"

Huge congratulations, also, to the BSN staff who participated – as a team, they achieved second place overall in the Business Run. The trophy is standing proudly at Junior School Vlaskamp! There were some amazing times achieved by our staff runners, including a Junior School Vlaskamp staff member who ran the 5K in 20:24 – coming in at #11 out of all the Business Runners and #82 overall in the 5K run.

The following Monday, many of our student runners wore their well-earned medals into school with pride. Well done to everyone in the BSN community who participated this year, making it another event full of the BSN spirit and one to remember!

A big thank you, as always, to BSN colleague Catherine van Renen for coordinating the student races - as well as to the BSN staff, parents and students who volunteered their time. We could not have done it without you!

Be sure to mark 9 March in your calendars for the 2025 edition of the CPC Run!
