BSN Rugby Team Learns Valuable Lesson in Mindset

Due to Year 11 and Year 13 mocks only 11 players, mostly from Year 12, took the Thalys to Paris on Friday afternoon for the return leg of our home and away matches against BSP.  Although we were loaned a further three players from BSP, BSN were simply not in the right frame of mind for the first half and in the face of strong wind and rain, not helped by poor decision making, were seven tries to one down at half time.  A few positional changes, some new BSP substitutes, a following wind, but most importantly, a change in mind-set meant that BSN were able to dominate the second half winning it 3 tries to none.

Overall, a lost game but a good lesson in team dynamics and much to cheer in the second half.  Michael van der Merwe was outstanding in the second half but man of the match was Elliot Wallace, who played well in both halves and stood out as a natural leader.
