Sixth Form Co-Curricular

This week, the whole of BSN’s Year 12 will take part in The Hague International Model United Nations (THIMUN) at The World Forum in The Hague. The theme for this year’s THIMUN is Borders in a Globalised World.

BSN students will work alongside 3,500 students from over 200 schools and 74 countries to debate and formulate peaceful solutions to many of the world’s problems.  Our students delegates will be representing the countries of Japan and Azerbaijan, including four student officers: Patrick Shepherd, President of the General Assembly; Lem de Vries, President of the Security Council; Sebastian Kolby, Assistant President of the Disarmament Committee; and Thomas Bathgate, Assistant President of the Environment Committee. Of course, all other students will be performing duties as Administrators – a role that involves a great deal of legwork!

Two of our students have been selected to work for the MUNITY Press pack and will produce the International THIMUN Tribune daily newspaper and update the website http://www.munityonline.com/

The Model United Nations (MUN) is an academic simulation of the United Nations that aims to educate student participants about current events, topics in international relations, diplomacy and the United Nations agenda.
