Senior Achievements

On 14 April, this year’s Senior School Voorschoten (SSV) Young Enterprise team attended the Jong Ondernemen (Young Enterprise) Dutch national finals – Junior Company of the Year with their product. The event took place at De Titaan, The Unknown University in the Hague and the team competed against nine other student companies, presenting their pitch for their product BAG-IT.

The Product: BAG-IT

Designed with everyday convenience in mind, our entrepreneurs’ product, BAG-IT, is an organiser for your rucksack or tote bag. With compartments for essentials, BAG-IT makes it simple to find what you need, when you need it – whether you’re at school, work or on the go!

Our Young Enterprise Team in Action

Our nine entrepreneurs, Bade (Chief Executive Officer), Moody (Chief Financial Officer), Ben (Head of Marketing), Sureya (Deputy Head of Marketing), Amélie (Secretary), Sophia (Head of Advertising), Diane (Deputy Head of Advertising), Stella (Head of Human Resources) and Adriana (Head of Public Relations) presented BAG-IT to a panel of judges from FedEx, Ubuntu, Van Spaendonck, and The Unknown University of Applied Sciences.

Moody and Ben then delivered a confident two-minute sales pitch in front of an audience of 200 people, followed by questions from the judges.

Alongside the competition, students had the opportunity to connect with other student companies and build valuable future business contacts.

It was an excellent day, with the team receiving commendation for their pitch and stand.

What is Young Enterprise / Jong Ondernemen?

Jong Ondernemen, the Dutch equivalent of Young Enterprise, gives students the opportunity to experience what it is like to run their own business. Through the programme, learners develop key entrepreneurial skills such as creating a business plan, carrying out market research, managing finances and pitching ideas. It offers valuable insight into both the rewards and challenges of entrepreneurship, helping to prepare students for future pathways in business and beyond.

It is just one of the many Co-Curricular Activities (CCAs) available to learners, allowing them to learn ‘beyond the classroom’ and gain real-life, practical skills.

Thank You To...

Special thanks to Senior School Voorschoten Young Enterprise Coordinator, Anne-Marie Smith for supporting our learners throughout the process.

Huge congratulations to the team on reaching the national finals and representing the BSN so brilliantly – truly an impressive achievement! We look forward to seeing what’s next in store for them.
