At Junior School Leidschenveen (JSL) the Year 6 students participated in Apprentice week.  The concept is based on the popular UK television show, which features the infamous and successful businessperson, Lord Sugar.

The students have to come up with a sellable product idea also taking into account concept design, costing and marketing.

On Friday, 10 November, the apprentice students visited Senior School Voorschoten (SSV) to present the designs and costings for the charity Bag-for-Life that they had spent the entire week working on.

Each group set up their stalls in the hall at SSV for the three judges (Mr Hare, Mr Laycock and Mr Topping) to visit. Each group had worked on a ‘pitch’ and a story behind their design idea. Once the market place closed the judges gathered to share their thoughts before announcing the two winning teams (pictured).

Headteacher for JSL, Karren van Zoest said, “The level of team work, presentation skills, sophisticated business acumen and detailed planning was impressive. It reminded me once again of the incredible capacity our students have, to reach high levels when challenged”

The winning designs are currently being prepared for printing and as soon as we take delivery of the bags we will let you know. Thank you all very much for your support with this project.
