The British School in the Netherlands (BSN) is proud to share the exemplary results of our Senior School Leidschenveen (SSL) and Senior School Voorschoten (SSV) Sixth Form International Baccalaureate (IB) learners.
Louise Simpson, BSN CEO, celebrated the impressive exam outcomes:
Every set of IB results tells us something about the two years that came before it. This year's cohort at SSL and SSV has worked hard for these outcomes, and the range of universities and countries they're moving on to reflects that. I congratulate every learner on what they've achieved, and I congratulate the staff who supported them to get there.
You all leave your pawprints on the BSN and remain part of the BSN pride regardless of where your next steps lead you".

Recognising Two Years of Hard Work
International Baccalaureate students in the Diploma and Career-related Programmes received their results on Monday 6 July. These results are a testament to our learners' dedication and hard work over the two years of the IB programme.
Their well-deserved success is reflected in the pass rates across both the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) and International Baccalaureate Career-related Programme (IBCP) – 97.14% and 100%, respectively.
Here are just a few of the learners' achievements:
IBDP
- Our learners' average Diploma point score in the IBDP is an impressive 35.24, which compares favourably with the global average of 30.58.
- 22.86% of learners earned 40+ points out of a possible 45.
IBCP
- Learners achieved particularly strong results in their DP subjects, including outstanding performances in Dutch, Geography, Psychology, French, Design Technology and Visual Arts, showcasing their ability to balance academic and career-related studies effectively.
The Future Looks Bright for BSN Learners
Our learners hold offers from many of the world's top universities, including the London School of Economics and Political Science, Nottingham University, University of Cambridge, Breda University of Applied Sciences, Delft University of Technology, Bocconi Università, Rijksuniversiteit Groningen, the University of Chicago and McGill University.
Learners have secured university places at a range of destinations, including the USA, Canada, Ireland, Germany, Sweden, Finland, and Italy. An expected 95% will attain their first- or second-choice destination. The offers span diverse fields of study and reflect the global outlook of our learners.
Patrick Heuff, SSV Headteacher, on the achievements earned:
I am so proud of all our IB learners. They have worked tremendously hard over these past two years, and I know how pleased they will be with these results. Whilst the headlines are always impressive, behind those numbers are individual success stories that represent the hard work and determination of our learners and the careful guidance and support of their teachers.
This cohort leaves us fully prepared for their next steps in their journey, as confident, inquisitive, articulate and thoughtful young adults, and I am very excited to see what they go on to achieve."

Joseph Petrykowski, SSV IB Coordinator:
"It is a real privilege to congratulate our learners on everything they have achieved. These results reflect not only their hard work and determination over the past two years, but also the resilience, maturity and commitment they have shown along the way. We are incredibly proud of each and every one of them, and our whole school community joins us in celebrating their success.
As they take their next, varied steps, I wish them every happiness and success. They leave us with so much to be proud of and with exciting chapters ahead.
Celebrating Outstanding Successes
Notably, two learners at SSL achieved an outstanding score of 45 points, the highest possible. This result is typically achieved by less than 1% of IBDP students globally.
James Oxlade, SSL Headteacher, shared his congratulations:
I am extremely proud of what this SSL cohort of IB learners has achieved. These results reflect their hard work, focus and determination over the past two years, and they have much to celebrate as they prepare for their next stage of study.
"I would also like to thank our SSL teachers, support staff and families. Their guidance, encouragement and care have played an important part in helping this cohort reach this point so successfully."

Richard Black, SSL IB Coordinator:
"As our 2026 IB cohort comes to the end of their time with us, I would like to offer my warmest congratulations on a wonderful set of results. These achievements reflect the perseverance, commitment and hard work they have shown throughout the past two years.
Your teachers are very proud of you, and I hope you feel proud of yourselves too. As you take your next steps as lifelong learners, I hope you carry with you the confidence that comes from knowing what sustained effort can achieve.
The BSN and Beyond
As with each group of Year 13 learners, we celebrate with great joy the progress they have made during their time at the BSN, developing into successful global citizens who possess the skills, knowledge, and qualities to make a positive impact on the world. It is also bittersweet as we wish them well in their next steps; however, as members of the BSN alumni community, they will always be welcomed back to share their stories and experiences and are forever part of our school's long history, joining the impressive ranks of the BSN alumni who are helping to build a better world.
