We were thrilled to welcome back students, families and staff – both returning and new – to our five campuses in and around The Hague on Monday 6 September. The atmosphere was abuzz with excitement, as well as some nerves. We were lucky to have beautiful, sunny weather - the perfect way to kick off the new school year and, hopefully, a good indicator of what the year has in store.
A warm welcome to the BSN community
On Friday 3 September, we welcomed new students and families to our campuses at our annual Welcome Day. It was a pleasure getting to know the newest additions to our BSN community, as well as to have the opportunity to answer any queries they had. For students, having the chance to visit their new school before the first day of the school year meant it didn’t feel quite as ‘new’.
The event's success was due to the participation and support of so many members of our community. We would particularly like to thank the Family Association, staff members and students who helped on the different campuses.
Hopes for the new year
We spoke to several of our students and staff members about what they were most looking forward to this school year. One of our Senior School Leidschenveen (SSL) students said of her new school:
“I can’t wait to explore the art department, as I love art. 🎨 I also saw on the virtual tour that there’s a place that looks just like a swimming pool (but it’s not!) and I can’t wait to explore it with new friends!”
One of our Junior School Class Teachers commented,
“I’m looking forward to reconnecting with BSN families, as well as welcoming new children and families into the BSN community."
We wish our students and staff all the best for the new school year.
